Trying to distinguish a legitimate Multi-level Marketing (MLM) program is taxing, if not tedious. Everyday, the business community is bombarded with too many MLM programs that are designed to suit one’s interest.
Multi Level Marketing may seem unpleasant for some people since MLM has become synonymous with scams and ponzies.
Amid the false impressions, a good number of MLM programs are still dependable and trustworthy. Thus, it deems it necessary to conduct a study or research about the MLM program or company you want to venture.
Nowadays, Multi Level Marketing has created a “tainted reputation” due to the massive number of scams that are linked with this business system.
However, it is enlightening to note that while there are bad programs, there are still those that are legitimate and profitable. Industry experts in the online business note that there are MLM opportunities in every industry, where a growing number of these are found in the Health and Wellness industry.
How do you find out if a program is valid or a scam? If the program has a genuine product that is profitable, then at face value, we can consider this a legitimate MLM.
If there is no product and you are just expected to build a team or down line for monetary gain then it is called a “Ponzi Scheme”. These are illegal and you should not join them. By definition, these are not MLM’s but mere scams. Experts have described the “Ponzi Scheme” where the owners collect a certain amount of money and close the business without paying anybody. You will be unlikely to get anything from them anyway.
It takes a lot of work to earn money; there is no such thing as doing no work and earning a lot of money. If there’s no proper contact information or support of the owners, then be very careful before you make that investment.
At most, a legitimate MLM is made of successful marketers who are dedicated to help their members become financially independent, in contrast to those marketers who are in the business profiteering, at the expense of their members.
It is advised that you seek information about your interested industry through business forums in the internet or most preferably, in the seminars conducted. In this way, you will be guided and well-informed before jumping in the bandwagon.
